I heard the wailing of a weary soul.
It had a pleading that I couldn’t know.
But it was just another dog in the wind
And I reckon I’ll never see him again.
She was a little girl by the side of the road.
I could tell by looking she carried a heavy load.
But she was just another dog in the wind
And I reckon I’ll never see her again.
I saw a boy that walked every street in town.
He never looked up and always looked down.
But he was just another dog in the wind
And I reckon I’ll never see him again.
She was a woman with a certain look in her eyes
And I was taken by her smile and her lies.
But she was just another dog in the wind
And I reckon I’ll never see her again.
I saw my face in the mirror, haggard and lost.
That’s the price that I paid, it’s the cost.
But I’m just another dog in the wind
And I reckon you'll never see me again.
